Best app to send money from Canada to Ethiopia. It has zero fees if you are sending to someone's account, and the exchange rate is always reasonable. One time I tried to send money but there was a problem with the recipients account and I got my money back without even calling their customer service. They immediately refunded me. Bank account transfers and mobile-wallet payouts typically take 1–3 business days depending on the destination country, your recipient's bank, and the time of day you send. From the US, Paysend supports transfers to more than 100 countries worldwide, with delivery to bank accounts, debit and credit cards, mobile wallets, and recipient phone numbers (Paysend Link). Limits depend on your verification tier. New accounts (Basic tier) can typically send up to $999 per day; verified Advance accounts up to $5,000 per day; and fully verified Ultimate accounts up to $10,000 per day, with corresponding monthly and biannual caps. State-specific limits apply in Arizona and Florida in accordance with state money-transmission laws. You can raise your limit by completing additional ID verification in the app.

You can cancel a transfer as long as it hasn't been processed yet. Open the Paysend app, go to Transfers, select the transfer, and tap Cancel.

Once a transfer is in progress or completed, contact Customer Support. Refund timelines vary depending on the type of issue:

• Cancellation refunds (e.g. wrong recipient details or technical failure): refunds typically take 3–10 business days to appear back on your card.
• Unauthorised transaction refunds: refunds are credited by the end of the next business day.

Disclaimer: Your cancellation rights (including time limits and refund eligibility) depend on your location and the laws that apply to your transfer. For US senders, most remittance transfers can be cancelled for a full refund within 30 minutes unless the funds have already been picked up or deposited, as permitted by law.

Transfers are most commonly held for one of three reasons: additional ID verification is required (Paysend will message you in-app), the recipient's bank is processing the deposit (typical for first-time transfers to a new account), or a routine compliance check is in progress. Check live status in the app under Transfers. If a transfer has been pending for more than 24 hours, contact Support with your transaction number.

No, in most cases they don't. Money goes directly to their bank account, debit/credit card, or mobile wallet — they don't need to sign up or download anything. For Paysend Link transfers (sent via phone number), the recipient receives an SMS with a one-time link to claim the funds to their card or account.

You can close your Paysend account at any time. Open the app, go to Profile → Settings → Close account, or contact Customer Support at help@paysend.com from the email address on your account. Before closing, make sure all transfers are complete and your balance is zero. In line with anti-money laundering regulations, Paysend retains transaction and identity records for 5 years after account closure, as required by the Money Laundering Regulations 2017 (UK) / AMLD5 (EU).
